Colin grew up with art - he has made models since he was a kid and a few years ago he decided to try his hand at portrait painting. This is General Tresckow, who tried to kill Hitler in WWII. Today he is working on this again - having recently discovered that the eyes are the wrong colour.
This is by Colin's mother Dorothy Hayden Finney Fraser. Dorothy died before we were married. We have a lot of her paintings up around the house. This is not one of the best but it is one that I really like (in spite of the frame being messy)
This is by Colin's grandmother. His mother's mother, Elizabeth Ingham Finney, was trained as an artist and taught much to her daughters. This particular painting is of NYC and is painted on a Cheerios box!
Our eldest daughter Eryl Mary Hayden painted this for me for Christmas a few years ago. When Eryl decides to redecorate her room she buys canvases and paints her heart out. Our other daughter can paint and draw but so far Eryl is the only one who really seems to have the interest.
